Head of DT/ DTTeacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Lockleaze, Bristol

Salary: Main Teacher Scale equivalent (£128-205 per day M1-M6)

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Maternity Cover)

Start Date: September 2023

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic DT Teacher to join our team at a Secondary School in Lockleaze, Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Design and Technology lessons to students aged 11-18. Please note that there will be some Food Technology elements within this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school's schemes of work
• Assessing and monitoring students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement
• Ensuring that all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued and respected
• Contributing to the development of the DT curriculum and resources
• Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students
• Undertaking marking and assessment of students' work in a timely and effective manner
• Providing feedback to students and parents on progress and achievement

The ideal candidate will have:

• QTS and a degree in Design and Technology
• Experience of teaching DT at secondary level, with a proven track record of achieving good results
• A passion for DT and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
• Excellent subject knowledge and a creative approach to teaching and learning
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities and school events
