Education People are actively recruiting an individual with a strong interest and understanding of special educational needs and mental health to work as SEN 1:1 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in a Primary School in North Somerset. 

Contract = Mondays and Tuesdays ASAP until July.

The role involves providing dedicated SEN support and is ideal for candidates with strong experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar SEN or support-based role, working closely with pupils to help them access learning and thrive in school.

The Role

You may be assigned to support a specific child on a 1:1 basis, helping them to access learning, manage emotions and feel safe and supported in school, giving targeted support to children with SEN through differentiation, behaviour support and small-group or in-the-moment interventions.

Your role will include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 SEN support in and out of the classroom
• Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, anxiety and emotional needs
• Using strategies to help children regulate behaviour and emotions
• Encouraging communication, engagement and confidence
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO or pastoral team
