Contract: Full time until Easter - with extension to full or part time temporary or supply work with a network of Primary Schools in North Somerset following the Easter break

Pay: £130 – £150 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Description

Education People are urgently seeking a Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Congresbury on a full-time basis until Easter.

This role involves full class responsibility and is ideal for a confident and committed Key Stage 2 teacher who can quickly build strong relationships and maintain high standards in the classroom, gaining hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. The ideal candidate will have strong curriculum knowledge, excellent classroom management, and the ability to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that inspire progress and confidence in all learners. A positive attitude, resilience and a collaborative approach are essential.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:20am – 3:40pm

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to a Year 5 class
  • Maintain effective behaviour management and a positive learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and leadership

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good communication skills and confident lesson delivery
  • Ability to hit the ground running in an immediate start, full-time role
