Meet the Team: Sally Norman, Manager & Primary Consultant
Continuing our Meet the Team series, today we are introducing you to our Office Manager and Primary Consultant for North Somerset, Somerset, BANES & Wiltshire, Sally Norman. Sally has been a member of Team EP for over 8 years and has been in the world of recruitment for over 20 years, so we sat down to ask her a few questions to find out more about her and her role in the team.
What is your role?
Manager & Primary Consultant
How did you get into recruitment?
I happen to fall into recruitment by chance of completing an NQV Level 3 in administration and was placed with one of the first Education agencies in Bristol. From there I become a consultant and worked by way up to management.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
It’s an early start (the early bird catches the worm!) I get to work around 6.30 – 6.45 ready to start filling schools urgent requirements for that day. Once the morning booking session is over, I check in my staff arrivals, touch base with clients and see what bookings I can to fill for future dates. Sometimes it’s long terms and sometimes its daily bookings. Once I’ve established what I need to do I make contact with my candidates and start resourcing.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
Variety! No day is the same, there is always a new problem to solve or new school to work with. I love the rush of the morning booking session, especially when all of our candidates are out to work.
What is your proudest moment with the company?
There have been many proud moments during my time with Education People, I think one of the proudest is receiving fantastic feedback from our candidates, we are so proud to be independent and be praised for the service we provide. You don’t really get a lot of praise in recruitment but hearing that you’ve done a good job via a candidate or client is a great sense of achievement.
How do you like to unwind outside of work?
I love my books, sewing and TV; we’re big fans of watching boxsets and talking about it at work. Its good to get the work life balance as the working days can be very full on but also really rewarding.
Why Education People?
I’ve worked for Education People for 8 years and I love what I do, although it has it’s challenges you couldn’t work for a better company with a great team in place and a supportive structure. We are always working towards growth and being unique and following our values as a company: Honesty & Integrity, Accountability, Support and Positivity.
